I've tried many skate skis (usually my friends' gear) and, for the price, it just doesn't get much better. Gear West does a great job with over-the-net flex testing. They work great for training and racing.

I am a second year highschool racer, and enjoyed many competitions and the birkie on them. They track very well and very light to move around. After you get used to them, they feel like extensions to your legs. My only complaint is the bases stratch easily when you scrape them so be careful.

Switched to the Atomic this year after using Fishcher forever. Love the Atomic on soft tracks or any new fallen snow not transformed. Soft shovel make ski very easy in new snow. Used it in a late season race on hard snow and it was good there too. Very satisfied. I would buy again.
